MichellefromEssex
Ok I love my cars but am a women after all, so I need your help in what I need to say to my insurance company when I call them about adding the modifications to my insurance policy, will they just know what I mean if I say "Mountune modifications"? or will I need to say persific wordings lol. Jonny87
you would probably have to list each mod. Unless they have added mountune to the trim level options, like style, titanium, ghia, zetec etc, but it may be a bit too soon for that. Check it on the web first with the mods you might get a better deal with another insurer. Also if i remember rightly there was an ad for insurance on the mountune website that said they didnt charge more if you hade the mountune added. MichellefromEssex
Oh yeah I had forgotten that, but my insurance not due for renewal till August, so I would have to pay off my esure insurance first so maybe worth sticking with them till August and then switiching, think its called greenfirst (somthing like that lol). JAR897
possibly. I think you will have to describe the upgrades as I doubt they will know what the montune upgrade consists of. If you go to Compare.co.uk you can add in the upgrades by selecting certain boxes (Manifold mod / Engine chip 11% - 25% BHP inc / exterior desgin etc). That way you will be ablew to see what kind of increase you are looking at. I tried to do it but being 20 they quoted me £2,300 which is obviously a little expencive. JAR897
Ok so I did two quotes, one with and one without the montune upgrade. On Confused.co.uk there is two seperate cars. The first is the Fiesta titanium 1.6 2008 onwards, and the second is the Fiesta 140 upgrade. The 140 upgrade is the montune upgrade. It was based on an employed (engineer) 30 year old man living in Nottingham with no points etc. Normal Titanium: £244 Titanium /w Montune Upgrade: £509 putting in the options as modified extras on a 'normal' Titanium: £
RIIIDAA
Asked Montune about it? Comparing their warranty approved ford endorsed upgrade to the more estasblished the Subaru optional PPP upgrade, insurers should in time become familiar with the package. Mark M.K
According to the website, the only insurance company who will accept the mods at no extra cost is Greenlight Insurance Clicky. I'd guess most other insurance people will charge you alot more just because they can and get away with it.
MichellefromEssex
£372 is my quote with greenlight, but this does not include adding my OH, still I have to phone Esure yet and enquire, but anyway thats for a 40yr old women whos been driving for 24 years will full 9+ years no claims bonus. EDIT Phoned Esure and added the modifications, she put me on hold whilst speaking to an underwriter, came back that my policy will go up by £53.75 over the remainder of my policy so brings my total insurance amount to £315.12 - result!!!!
