Ford Fiesta MK4

Featured Replies

Currently I have 13" wheels on my fiesta. I'm looking at increasing this - just wondering if anyone could let help me out? What's the maximum I would be able to fit without having to play with the suspension and arches etc. Basically - I'm looking for a straight wheel / tyre swap. And finally, would you have any recommendations?

Thanks,

Adam

I was thinking of doing the same with my mk4 fiesta.

I've seen other fords with bigger wheels on and no mods to the arches.

I reckon u could easily get away with 15" Fox alloys from Halfords.

Its not so much the tyre clearance from the wheel arch ( but it does help ) but more the tyre clearance when u turn.

You have to ensure that the tyre does not scuff the inside of the arch or come ito contact with anything else, like your suspension springs.

A friend of mine got around this problem when he bought alloys for his car ( not a ford ) by fitting wheels spacers which gave more clearence when turning...however, he had to modify the wheel arches and apparently wheel spacers wearout the wheel bearings quicker because of the added wieght.

I need to get my shaking issue sorted out before i consider investing in alloys.

Best of luck m8.

Roy.
