2007 C-Max 2.0 Zetec (Petrol) Manual

Featured Replies

Interesting, maybe everyone who ownes a manual is happy and kept them hence why there are none on the second hand market available?

Still doesnt answer why websites such as Parkers/WhatCar have no details of the manual though. In fact the review on WhatCar states:

The 1.6-litre petrol engine with 98bhp is fine for driving in town, but will struggle when the car is fully laden and on fast roads. The 1.8-litre model with 123bhp is sprightly, and the 143bhp 2.0-litre comes only with an automatic gearbox.

Just found your car details on Parkers website - http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/reviews/facts-and-figures/ford/focus-c-max/estate-2003/36482/

Although the review only talks only of the 2.0L Diesel - The 2.0-litre - with 142bhp is the most powerful petrol engine in the line-up and has plenty of overtaking punch plus, thanks to a six-speed gearbox, cruises effortlessly.

I have drawn their attention to that What Car article, so I will see what they say.

My C-MAX doesn't have a 6 speed gearbox, so I wonder if that is correct.

I was just comparing the figures between my 2.2 16v Vectra and the 2.0 16v C-Max... makes interesting reading!

C-MAX - 142Bhp

Vecta - 144Bhp

C-MAX 0 to 60 - 9.5 secs

Vectra 0 to 60 - 9.8 secs

C-MAX - 38MPG

Vectra - 30MPG

Both are insurance group 21. C-Max has cheaper tax due to (much) lower emissions.

I'm pleasantly surprised that many of the stats are comparable, yet the C-MAX has the smaller engine, is heavier and still makes it to 60 before the Vectra and using less fuel!

Told you Ford engines were better :P

Thats why CMAX's are becoming more popular on some police forces (Kent has at least one I am aware of and I believe I have seen two other unmarked and without lights...).

Didnt know that, cheers for the heads up :)
