how much does it cost to get a new lock for the bonnet.come to check the oil and it wouldn't open.. :angry:

    Does the key just turn & nothing happen if it does try this,

    Push the grill in about 10mm & put key in & try to open it

    This works every time on mine

    i can put the key in and turn it to 2 but its a bit of a struggle to turn it to 3.can hear a click turning to 3.

    sounds like its jammed. happened to a guy i know's mk3. he made a right mess getting his open.broke grill etc. there must be a real-easy way tho

    OK update on the bonnet release.yesterday phoned a garage about the bonnet,chap on the other end said get a new key cut...9/10 the key blades are worn.so this morning got a new key cut for £15 and low and behold it worked. :) :) saved me £150. :)
