phoned a ford dealer today about my alarm fob not working.couldnt believe the price he told me £198+vat.....telephoned these guys http://www.tlcfordltd.co.uk £20 for a used one.... :)

update+ went to get a used alarm fob.this one wouldnt work,getting the beep from the turning the ignition 4 times but no beep from the fob.they think it might be the transponder box not working right.

Have you checked to make sure the battery in the replacement fob isn't flat or missing

That's to change the way the doors unlock, either single stage or dual stage

Put in a fresh CR2032 battery, check the contacts are touching the battery and just push one button when programming to the car.

just use ELM to change those settings, rather than the old fashioned method that any one can do ;)
