Well then. I posted last week that i was going to see my salesman about my car on wednesday 9th, well I did, and well he wasnt there, and the "system" was down apparantly.

This week I will try again! going in tomorrow (16th). This will be about four weeks in from the order. I have heard absolutely nothing at all, no dates, no details. Nothing since they took my deposit. Originally my salesman said 6-8 weeks tops, but it could be sooner and he seemed quite certain of this. Going on this i have 2-4 weeks untill my car arrives (wishful thinking methinks)

This is quite a pointless post really, but after hearing other peoples horror stories I have more or less convinced myself that I am going to be told something i dont want to hear.

Anyway i am doing this poll out interest to see what the general feeling is on this issue.

What will I be told my my Ford dealer later today?

GOOD NEWS = "Yes sir your car will be here to pick up within the next four weeks for sure"

BAD NEWS= "Sorry sir, but for some obscure reason its not going to be here within the next four weeks"

My dad had the misfortune of having his car sent to a Ford garage to be repaired after a car crash

(Toyota Prius to a Ford dealership...doesn't make sense to me either seeing as the closest dealer is the Toyota one!)

They said it would only take two weeks max

five weeks later, we have it back with the windscreen wash only working when you press for the back screen wash and the other way round.

Worst bit? my dad is 6"5 and they sent him a KA as a courtersy car to drive to brmingham and bristol from Stafford every day, so we got a private hire car as well.

fortunately we did not have to pay, the joys of a company car!

The systems down thing happened to me 1000s of time. Unless they have the worst system EVER, this is a load of BS!

we had the car back, this was a couple of months ago now, but it was very, very annoying at the time!

I have been stalled, untill tomorrow. So far no real reasons not to trust the dealership on the 6-8 weeks estimate. Though i am becoming sceptical. I will update tomorrow. Keep voting people!

The only result from visiting the dealer yesterday was that they would call me with info today (because sales manager was off).

2 hours till they close and no call. How long did it take for you guys to get any sort of roughly accurate dates?

haha you're probably right. Two days since this topic and I have no info! All i really want is a delivery estimate, and some proof of this estimate, so I can see they're not just making it up. tbh i still feel bullish that the car will arrive within the 6-8 week, the dealer seems positive. Even giving examples of fiestas that have shown up 2 weeks early. Im buying from a fairly large dealership chain so there shouldnt be any of the quota targets that people have been talking about, also i have now seen at least 10 new fiestas in my town, just in the last week. I dont want them to just call and say "its here" as it will probably take me at least a week to gather all of the cash together.

On one hand i dont want them to think im pestering them, cos then they will probably just think up any old story to get rid of me.

On the other hand, they are getting many thousands of pounds of my very hard earned cash, Ive been down there twice and i know nothing, and they cant even be arsed to pick up the phone

Basically a pointer as to wether im going to have my car in a fortnight or if im going to have a 4 month nightmare like some of you have had is what i think im after...

My estimate was end of this month/start of next, so basically within 2/3 weeks from now... and as yet I still have no build date so my delivery estimate is out the window.

I've just completed week 4, it's just the uncertainty of it all, its getting to me.

Its like queueing at the checkout, but every time you get to the front of the queue, the checkout girl clocks off, and it keeps happening again and again, and the whole time your icecream is melting, and you never know if you are ever going to get out of there, or if you are going to have any icecream left.

Does that make sense?

I've got till wed's before i should ring again to see if an update. was told AGAIN last wed's that It should get a build date within the week. What would really make me happy is to ring and get told "oh, its been built". lol.

I keep checking my phone in day hoping I've had a call about it etc. its desperate really but its my new car, paid a lot of money for it, and still doing so now (new shiney tomtom for it etc.). lmao.

Keep my posted, sounds as though you ordered yours close to mine if yours is now 4 weeks? What was your spec. Excuse me for being slow :)

Ben, we ordered about the same time March 8th for me. My original build date was 24 April. I dont know when it was built but Thursday before Easter I got a call from the dealer saying it had been built so it was 2 weeks early. The dealer said I should have it in 4 weeks time. Hopefully yours will be about the same time. I too have been buying stuff for my car. Well I got a Navigon Sat Nav last week from Halfords (half price till Monday). Next I have to get some cleaning stuff! :)

also they messed me around with delivery dates and things but as soon as i told them that i needed to know so i could transfer cash from one account to another they were ringing me within minutes.

Build date around 20th May

(was hoping I would be driving around in the thing by this time)

He accepted that this was longer than expected, but he cited all of the extras and trim level as the reason for this.

My guess is that It will be pushing June by the time I have it, that said, quite a few peoples have been built before the build date so I may well have it by the end of May. So another 4-8 weeks wait is possible.

Oh well

Sorry to hear that mate, it generally takes 3 weeks after being built to arrive at the dealers. It took mine just over 8 weeks in total from ordering.

Ah cool, congrats. My dealer said once built should have it ready for collection within 2 weeks as they get it ready within 3 days of having it.

Yeah, i will wait till weds and ring, hopefully by then will have some results. seems other people are getting details as of this/last week.
