Nice one! - remember it does not clean out the inlet manifold or the EGR valve

jeebowhite
I would be surprised if it doesnt! It basically spit polishes everything there bar the intake, but it should definatey make an improvement! Hardest part is getting the car to run after! Lenny
I've just read the thread. Very interesting! I hope my 2.0 petrol duratec benefits in the same way! Cheers Sweet i was just about to ask if your engine was petrol or diesel. I would be surprised if it doesnt! It basically spit polishes everything there bar the intake, but it should definatey make an improvement! Hardest part is getting the car to run after! Has there been issues with running the car after cleaning?
Stoney871
Only with diesels and purely because Ford diesels are a mare to restart if a fuel line is disconnected. On a petrol you'll have no dramas.

MondeoJames76
No worries Lenny. Colonic irrigation for the car is fine. For me? No thanks!
Stoney871
No worries Lenny. Colonic irrigation for the car is fine. For me? No thanks! Certainly not with the stuff the Terraclean unit will be pumping out anyway. Gives new meaning to the song 'Ring Of Fire' :d You certainly wouldn't want it from a diesel unit either as the chemical they use is basically a modified version of oven cleaning ammonia.
Lenny
On a note of improving/enhancing performance, I've fitted some NGK iridium IX spark plugs to my 4AGE yesterday and although I haven't driven it yet with them fitted; I started up the engine and given it a rev, I did notice the engine to be more responsive to the throttle,
MondeoJames76
So terraclean completed earlier this morning! So the changes so far: MPG on the way there 28.9 MPG on the way home 34.4 The car was also quieter. Both at idle and on the move. Those are the facts. Now my subjective views: It 'feels' smoother. Sounds smoother, feels smoother on throttle. Does it feel more powerful? No, I couldn't say it did but gain it certainly felt like the power was being delivered more smoothly. Will add detail after my weekend of many miles (28/29th).
Stoney871
If it's anything like when I had my TDCI done you'll find the MPG will improve a bit as time goes by and reach a peak improvement after 4 -5 days.

jeebowhite
Just get her a good service before you take her in for the Terraclean, thats how you get the best out of it!
MondeoJames76
Took another road trip today. Route out achieved 42.7 mpg! Now to be clear I was trying my best to maximise the mpg but 42.7 is excellent for my petrol! On the way back, I drove hard, used the stereo, windows ajar and had the air con on and made no effort at all to be economical. I achieved 37.1mpg. For the journey I did the best I ever previously managed is 37.1 and I did everything I could to be economical! Therefore I have no doubt I am getting an improvement. So far it's around 15% but I'm keeping records so I can give an accurate figure in time...
