MONDEO-FAMILY
please can people help can any one tell me what sort of noise a worn Wheel Bearing would give as I have a very loud humming noise at about 40 mph and as I go faster the noise speeds up but does not change when clutch is disengaged and the engine sounds do not change

BigD
What he said. The other option that springs to mind is a worn cv joint. A shot wheelbearing generally sounds like a low-pitched grinding noise/rumble, and you might find that it gets worse/better if you steer left or right.
