Whistling Noise Driving At ~ 80 On Motorway

I had a little Ibiza before my Focus (which i've now had for a month) but on 2 occasions I noticed whistling sound (persistent) while driving at 70-80 mph on the motorway. My Ibiza didn't suffer from this, but I am beginning to wonder if it's a common feature of the Focus Mk 2.5.

Does anyone else experience this? What could it be?

    My fiesta does this! Sounds like a distant hairdryer in 4th, 5th and 6th gear.

    Can't figure out what it is, the stereo is a good solution ;)

    The focus has a prob with the mirror surround not sitting right/or coming adrift might be worth having a look in that area

    I have this problem gives me a right headache literally.

    I will look at the casing tomorrow and hope its obvious.

    The only real annoyance with mine is the noise at speed too. Don't mind when I'm on my own as I can turn the radio up, but when I've got others in the car it can make talking a little difficult at times.

    I also have a Mk2.5, but never get this noise on the motorway, at any speed.
