I see these on my Facebook feed a lot, and I've been on the website, but has anyone actually tried one before?

I can post a link, if anyone wants more info? (if forums rules allow that is)

I quite fancy one as a cheap upgrade and to provide a little extra boost, but I want more than just their website offering opinions and "ZOMG BEST THING EVARR" posts about it :)

any advice or first hand experience is welcome, thanks :)

    My mate has one from TDI Tuning that I fitted for him a week ago.

    He loves it and the unit is reported to add 30hp to his car.

    is it easy to install? its just an inline unit isn't it? wouldn't want to start hacking away at the ECU!

    On the 1.8 it's easy to get to the commonrail loom plug (front left side).

    On the 1.6 it's hidden rear right side of the engine and the battery box needs to come out.

    His box is adjustable for maximum economy or maximum performance.

    On max performance he has noticed a small improvement on fuel usage and a lot more oomph.

    They just plug in and need no cutting or splicing at all.
