Hi people, this is my first post on these threads.

Basically what the problem seems to be is that whenever I set off in first gear, there is a whining noise which only seems to disappear once I change in to second gear.

This hasn't been much of a problem in the past, it's been around for about 12 months and I've often ignored it, but it seems now that it's more frequent and just today I was in stop-start traffic and the noise was becoming unbearable.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?
