Clutch Kits

Featured Replies

hi there ive got to change the clutch and ive been told i might have to do the flywheel aswell cant believe how much its going to cost been qouted £760 is there any one you can do it alot cheaper for me in the bristol area please help ;)

What car is this on?

you'll only need to do the flywheel if you have a Tdci version. This is fitted with a dual-mass flywheel, which it is best to change with the clutch. You're not going to find anybody to do it for under £600 unless you're very lucky.

I'm guessing it was "You might as well do it whilst you have the gearbox off". It saves removing the gearbox and clutch again later if it needs doing so extra labour costs.

need to know which car it is. on a single mass flywheel you can just clean the surface up and it'll be fine for another 500,000 miles

I'm guessing an Escort as profile shows and the teeth can wear out much earlier than 500k lol especially with short journeys.

Looking at the Haynes manual, it looks like a single mass flywheel for the 2001 TDDI. It doesn't look like anything special. Don't quote me on that, though.

2001 tddi does not have a dmf. It will be more expensive than the petrol version as it is fitted with the mondeo box. Should cost less than£350
