Problem Focus

Featured Replies

my mums focus has been nothing but problem with the EML.

first it was the ti-VCT solenoid that was faulty, replaces and sorted, its had 3 coil packs, and 2 broken wires at the coil pack plug and a 3rd today.

the AA has done a temp repair but really need the wiring repaired. is there a link lead/ repair kit available from ford for the coil pack plug? i only ask as my dad is going to ford to see if anything is available but dont want to be fobbed off if something is available.

I don't know if ford have a repair part for this or not but have you identified why it keeps failing?

the last time the AA was called out they said that the coil pack had failed due to it over heating but a dodgy wire at the coil pack plug.

the wiring at the coil pack is really tight, tight enough so you could strum a tune out of it. the wires need lengthening in order to prevent the wires breaking. but if ford do do a repair kit/ link lead ill be sure to keep plenty of slack
