Dpf Issue - 2005 Focus 2.0 Tdci

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a problem with the DPF system on my Focus. I have had it into a Ford dealership, who have diagnosed a split pipe(s) into the DPF sensor. They are quoting #700 to replace the pipes and sensor, and do a forced re-generation. However they are saying the actual DPF filter may be blocked also, but they cannot diagnose this until the pipes and sensor have been replaced.

I am thinking it may be easier to just remove the DPF and have the ECU remapped. I know this is an MOT item, but I can work around this.

My question is whether having the DPF removed will actually make a difference if I still have split pipes into the DPF sensor - do I need to get these pipes replaced regardless of whether I have my DPF filter removed or not?

Thanks
