favero
Need a spot of advice on what would be a fair price for a timing belt renewal. On the very edge of needing my timing belted changed. 83k miles and 13 year old Ford Focus 1.6 Ghia. Got a quote for replacement including water pump with parts, labour and Vat at £292. Is this the going rate? Seems quite high to me.
wase16ll
dont think its too wide of the mark for garage price probably looking at £50 for timing belt kit £30-40 for pump dont know if Coolant and Serpentine belt is included in that, but that will add approx another £30-£40 and 2.5-3 hours labour, so depending on labour rates round your way, but independent garages in london are approx £50-£60ph
pisco
I paid £160 sans the water pump, if I had known then what I know now I would have had it replaced at the same time. I got a new pump off eBay for £17 so if it goes at least I am in a place to get it replaced quickly. But as has been said depends on where you take it. This was a one man "garage". STEADS
That's a fair price I,d say cost me just less than that without the dreaded
GRAHAM46
I was recently quoted £300 + at a Ford dealer and £200 all in from an independent. Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
