Focus Mk1 Mpg A Bit Low

Hi, I've had my mk1 1.6 v reg focus for about 7 months now but i can't seem to get any better than 30mpg, which from looking around on the internet seems a bit low. Am i right in thinking its a bit low and can anyone suggest ways to improve economy?

    Mpg is dependant on warm up time length of journey town or mixed driving ,stop start,hills or flat roads,how many in the car,tyre pressures,driving style,outside temperature to name a few so it may be right for youre driving and situation
