jimrex Posted March 31, 2014 Share Posted March 31, 2014 My handbrake only engages when the lever is stupidly high too, was given the usual dealer waffle when I queried it that "Seems fine to us" and "all the Focus' we have on site are the same". Went to a different garage on my next service and they adjusted it but it's still not perfect. I just leave mine in gear on any slight incline now just in case! Get a 13mm socket and undo the outer nut completely, then adjust the inner nut in, turn by turn, until you get it right. Replace outer lock nut. Job done. Mine brakes fully at 4-5 clicks.
