How Do I Adjust The Handbrake On A Titanium X (2013)

My handbrake only engages when the lever is stupidly high too, was given the usual dealer waffle when I queried it that "Seems fine to us" and "all the Focus' we have on site are the same". Went to a different garage on my next service and they adjusted it but it's still not perfect.

I just leave mine in gear on any slight incline now just in case!

So it's not all those handbrake turns I haven't done... :innocent: Meant to be high :)

Remove the cup holder , see picture below.

Get a 13mm socket and undo the outer nut completely, then adjust the inner nut in, turn by turn, until you get it right.

Replace outer lock nut.

Job done.

Mine brakes fully at 4-5 clicks.

Don't over do it, or your rear brakes will rub a little and could cook everything.

5 minute job B)

does that car have the funny shaped new style hand brake lol

The cheap focus's have the old style hand brake and they can be adjusted much easier lol
