Resetting Mpg Read Out.

I have read somewhere to reset your ecu and mpg display you disconnect the battery for half hour.

Is this true? Does it have to be both battery leads?

    I don't want to reset the trip computer.

    I want to reset my average mpg as it's saying I'm getting 26 on average which is silly in my opinion seen as it's a 1.6 petrol focus.

    I don't boot the car at all. Mainly cos there is nothing to boot with. Lol.

    Does 26 mpg sound about right to you? It's mostly town driving. Bearing in mind I very rarely go above 2k revs.

    I can 28-30mpg with town driving if I drive very carefully, and thats in a 1.8 petrol

    Skipping gears etc, 1st to 3rd and skipping 2nd seems to increase fuel economy

    you just hold the reset button for a few seconds, same for the trip computer, adjusting from celcius and farenhright, and resetting the average speed
