Drive Shaft Hub Bolt.

Featured Replies

For a couple of days Ive had a rattle coming from the passenger front wheel, yesterday it went off but noticed the centre wheel cap missing, on closer inspection the Drive shaft retaining bolt was missing.

It must have been loose a few days and when I was driving at speed its pushed the centre cap off.

Would it be ok to use the car for a day or so?

I wouldn't use the car without the hub bolt! You will ruin the bearing if nothing else.

Hi , Always use a new hub retaining bolt,,

Stage 1 tighten 45Nm / 33lbf ft.

Stage 2 Angle-tighten a further 90 Degrees.
