what size intercooler is best/fit behide bumper of mk1 focus ?

    intercoolers... longer pipework.. Thicker.. more lag ect. i need some advice / good ideas :)

    on the mk2 focus, all the I/c's for the ST/Rs fit the tdci so you may find the tddi/rs i/c the same so this may help you.

    a larger i/c will help!

    some websites state the TDDI (non watercoolered) Garret T1544 as a 38mm Air outlet (1.5") & Air inlet of 45.9mm (1.8Inch) With a rating of 150bhp


    Would using a 2.25 Intercooler and piping be ok ?

    I've just bought myself a tddi aswell. Problem with fitting a fmic would be the fact that the bumper has no lower grill in the front like most cars. There all solid right across the length.

    there is lower and upper grills. Most bumpers have to be cut out to hold a intercooler.

    problem is the Focus radator tilts back from the top. meaning at the bottom there is little space.

    The best thing todo would be to get a 50/50 Radaitor and Intercooler side by side. Then it starts to get expensive.


    i'm gonna mount mine at the bottom.

    Ill order the parts Friday if anyone wants me to take photos ill take some.
