Help Body Kit Inbound

Featured Replies

Hi guys. Took the plunge and Ordered the full genuine Ford body kit(front, side and rear skirts) for the fiesta mk 7.5. Can somebody point me to how to install them? Can I DIY it or do I need help from a garage? Thanks

Is the garage painting them for you as well?

Fitting it yourself depends how good you are with that sort of thing. I fit my spoiler myself, but I wouldn't be as confident about the bumper and skirts.

If the garage is supplying and spraying I would of thought they could fit it for little extra, as most of the cost is in the part and paint.

Thanks. I am looking around for options as my local garage charge me like £500 to paint and install them. Which I think is a bit steep.

Spent like 600+ for the whole kit.

500 for painting and fitting it is a cracking deal!! when i looked at it for my mk7 was 600 for the kit plus 600 for paint and then 300 for fitting so id jump at that price m8 !!!!! but fitting all the kit yourself is alright but you have to know what you doing with the adhesive coz once its on it aint coming off ever, not without destroying the skirts and orignal paint on your car so id leave it to a pro, plus you have to get them sat at the right height so it all matches and looks even nothing worse than a side skirt half way up your door and then the front and rear look totaly out of place imo

Thanks for the input. Will consider that. I am still looking for the mean time till the kit gets here. Anyways thanks.

Surely it would've been better to have bought a ZS here? they don't cost more than that new?

Hi

I fitted skirts to my zs tdci as I didn't have them from the factory. I had them painted by a local body shop.

There were two clips which push fitted into holes in the underside (you have to remove the two seals from the holes) There were also about four push in clips either side which fit into the sill holes on models which have them factory fitted (you can ignore these as you wont have the holes).

I then bought some automotive grade double sided sticky about 5mm wide and stuck this on the mating faces of the skirts at the top.

The holes on the underside of the skirts slid onto the fittings you push into the underside.

I then pulled a little of the backing tape off the double sided so you can push the skirt to the car and working from the middle then pull the backing off and push.

Then fit the end caps.

I never had any issues with them coming away and they were on for three years when I px it.
