St Springs Compatible?

Featured Replies

Hey all!

I have just down graded from an 07 focus ST to a 10 focus 1.6 TDCI. i went for the diesel for economy as my circumstances changed and need to travel more. I couldnt scrape the extra 1k for the zetec s as the diesel was naturally more expensive, so doing al the zetec mods.

However. I have a set of ST springs from an 08-11 ST. Does anyone know if these are compatible with my 10 plate focus as a straight swap?

Many thanks

hi michael,

The diesel models are heavier than the petrol models thus rewuiring stronger springs,

My 1.6tdci has been lowerd on ford approved eibach springs now the same ride height as a petrol zetec focus,

Your st springs will fit all petrol focus but too soft for the diesel model,

Thank you.

Do you have any pics before and after at all please?

Would you recommend it? May i ask how much you paid for the springs.

I have seen some on a well know auction site but am always skeptical about that place

i bought mine from ford in the uk through ebay,

I can give you the ford part number tomorrow,

If you click on my build thread in the link below my post you will see a point in the thread where i discuss lowering aswell as rear camber adjustment,

I fitted ST rims prior to lowering,

But lowering levels the door sill,

Lifts the nose a bit and drops the rear,

Can take rounabouts much faster car is much more predictable and handles great,

Heres after loweing, next to an RS

thanks mate was a three year project,

The focus responds well to the mods, if i was you id wait until.i needed tyres before changing alloys, there are re0l8ca st rims available on ebay for under 500 but i had to go to ford for the facelift st version, fitted some Avon zz3 tyres on them asewell took me four months to get the set, 420 euro 0er corner including tyres,

Iv3 done a guide on fitting the st dash pod aswell who needs a 2.5ltr turbo engine  can create the whole experience around that diesel engine instead, padestrians wont even notice the difference,

If your looking for guides ive created 28 click on my picture there to view my 0rofile 0age where you will see links to my guides, all available to download in pdf format for easy printing aswell.

I like the alloys in silver but not a fan of the black to be honest mate,

I will defo take a look.

Its hard to tell by the pic but they are actually graphite gray, same colour as the decals. I do miss the ST :'(

ive seen a lot: 'if you want an ST buy an ST'... Well i have owned one, and loved it, but what people need to understand is that everyone circumstances are different. Mine changd so the beast had to go. I still love the look so i shall get it back!

How does it sound with your exhaust? Being a diesel and all

Ive two kids and third one on the way, so an st wasnt an option for me lol

I had a 2000 toyota levin bzr that was a 1.6 naturally aspirated vti 1.6 20 valve engine with a 6 speed lsd box 170bh0 at the wheels, cost me 1800 euro was fast enough and fun, if i had a 220bhp st id be dead or currently having a spoon feed instead of typing this post,

Heres two videos of the exhaust i done after dpf removal to demonstrate no smoke,

Camera wasnt great but can sort of hear the exhaust,

I lay in the boot with my arm out for the first video lol
