I've got a 2010 Focus 1.6 style, looking to upgrade the stereo but not sure what to go for. Have seen a lot of people complaining of compatibility issues so want to make sure I go for the right thing.

Also looking to make some minor mods to boost performance but nothing too in depth, definitely going for an air filter change to start but looking for more ideas.

Hi,

Welcome to the forum,

If upgrading stereo there are adaptor kits available which allow the steering stalk to function with the new stereo,

You may also like to fit a reverse camera,

Your engine is a 1.6 petrol model,

Sorry to say its the only ford engine that cant be modified much,

Air filter and perhaps a 200 cell cat back exhaust but thats a total of 10bhp increase tops,

Used a fake Dremil from Maplins same tool used to cut out the dash for the ST pod,

If you were to remove the panel under the wipers (as saw in the egr blanking guide linked above) you can then remove the side plastic strips and perhaps cut them a bit more tidy,

And heres a video below on the correct way to pop in the ball joints not using a hammer lol
