Ford Focus 1.8 Tdci 2003 - Glow Plug Light - Won't Start - Fixed - Camshaft Sensor

Featured Replies

I thought I'd post this after reading many people with the same issue but wasting a lot of money on diagnostics and erroneous repairs.

I had the issue where the car cut out whilst driving with the glow plug light flashing on. The first time it happened I was on the motorway and was able to restart the car whilst driving.

The same happened a few days later whilst coming off the motorway but this time it wouldn't restart and I needed to be towed home. Waited till the next day and it still wouldn't start. It nearly started a few times but not quite and the glow plug light was flashing on failure to start.

Everything I read pointed at the camshaft sensor being the easiest thing to try, whilst others had spent hundreds without fixing the issue.

Bought one, fitted it, problem solved.

I really recommend trying this before spending any other money, it's a possible cheap fix.

How easy was it to fit? Did you need to use a code reader to match the part up to the car afterwards?
