So are the JL Audio C3 650's a direct replacement for the stock speakers or is any modification needed?

Sorry for all questions dude..

No the C3 650 are just a good set of 6.5" components which can also be changed to coaxial form by removing the centre cone.

You can fit any brand of 6.5" speakers in front and rear doors you just need to purchase aftermarket adaptors which are specific for the Ford Focus and different for front and rear doors.

Front door adaptors

The 10" HD screen was easier to install in the roof lining and is more comfortable viewing for all three rear view passengers rather than 7" headrest screens.

The Pioneer headunit itself has alot more options including the ability to play the DVD on screen in the back with audio via headphones while playing another source such as fm radio or Bluetooth stream through the car speakers to entertain front passengers at the same time.

Thanks so much for this guide Lenny, I changed my stereo out for a Sony XAV-AX1000 last night and I’d have been totally lost without it! Especially when it came to mounting the HU to the cage.

For me though, the hardest part of the whole thing was getting those little bolts in between the dash and the fascia plate! So fiddly, dropped one of the bolts in and had to remove all the trim to get it back 🤬 looks great now though, used the same Dynamic Sounds kit.
