Rs Tuning Leeds-Dyno Run-Anyone Interested In A Group Buy?

Featured Replies

Hi guys

Me and my son Tomo89 are planning on taking our ST's to RS Tuning in Leeds to have a go on the rolling road to get reading for the horse power of our cars.

The cost is £45 per car but we are going to try and negotiate a group discount if anyone else is interested? I'm guessing we will probably go on a Saturday but this will depend on how many folks are interested and when they can fit us in.

Here's a link to their website http://www.rstuning.co.uk/index.php We've heard some really good reports on this place they do REVO tuning just have a look at the website.

If you would be interested in taking part in this post a reply on here and we will see what sort of deal we can get from them. Obviously if anyone wants to go for a full remap they would have to arrange that themselves.

Tom has spoken to the guy at RS Tuning today and the cost of a dyno run to check the BHP and torques of your car is £45, unfortunately he doesn't open on a weekend normally. However if we can get 10 or more to go along he will open on a Saturday morning and change only £35 per car. That's a seriously good saving in excess of 20%, well done Tom for negotiating that for us.

All we need now are enough folks on here to sign up to go.

So post below if you would be interested in coming along to find out how much power your car has got.

This is a great idea, I was thinking of getting a rolling road session booked at the exact same place, so would be great to go in a group (and see if I wasted £670 on Mountune compared to the other STs).

If we can't get enough people maybe we could go on an evening depending on when you guys finish work and when they close. And it might be worth posting similar threads on the Fiesta and Focus forums just because we might get more interest.

So we have 3 of us so far not bad start I will also ask some friends outside of the club too we literally just need 10+ people to attend and I will book it? they don't do power runs in the evening Paul told me at RS tuning he said they tend to just do them in mornings on weekdays or weekends for block bookings.

He said he would need a £50 deposit when I book too which I can sort then just everyone pays there way on the day.

Definate list so far then:

Phil my thoughts exactly will be interesting to see especially as Nathan had hos stock done recently and it recorded 211bhp.

The only problem is if that was on a different dyno we could get different numbers, plus I heard the temperature makes a difference. But that's one good thing about several of us going at once, we can compare our results accurately.

I'd be up for this on a Saturday morning, can't do weekdays though.

Sounds like it could be fun! I'd love go know what my car is putting out.

It will be exciting as it will be my first rolling road, I just hope my engine doesn't blow up.

You be fine with your warranted mountune. I hope my unwarranted bluefin engine doesn't blow up haha.

Ahhh be reet

Yeah that's true, although I doubt Ford or Mountune would be too happy about fixing an engine that blew up on a dyno. If it ever happens you could just have it taken to a dealer and say it happened on a motorway :P

Do we have any more people wanting to go to this?

Not yet Phil think we need to leave it till new year anyway so might get some more before we decide what to do

Yeah that's probably a good idea. I don't see why they need 10 people just to open the place. Surely if they just get 5 of us in on a Saturday morning and make about £200 from it that's worth an hours work lol. If you can even call it work, more like fun being paid to floor it in other peoples' cars.

Haha yes I agree might get a couple of non fords along including the Clio v6 which would be good to see

Anyone else interested in the new year

I wonder if there's a day around Christmas / new year when some of us are available and they're open? I could probably do most days except Christmas to be fair, staying at my parents' so I don't have to do much around Christmas lol.

  • 1 month later...

Do you want to arrange this soon or wait for better weather? I'm thinking if we do it while we have cold weather we should get slightly more power, unless they keep their dyno "room" warm.

I'm up for doing it soon, definitely don't need better weather!

Yeh well sort it soon need to get 10 for a Saturday though

I'd go as long as it fell on my weekend off. Not sure about putting my standard car on the dyno I might end up feeling a little inadequate lol! But yeah if it falls when I'm off I should be able to do it with a little notice.

I've already asked the only other person I know who would be up for this but his car is an automatic Hyundai Coupe so wouldn't work on a dyno lol. Maybe someone should post it on facebook if we can't find enough people...

I wouldn't worry about that, there will be at least 2 or 3 other standard STs and there's nothing inadequate about a 1.6 producing 200 bhp ;)

I'll be interested to see how the mountune ST's perform as in a couple of years I'm thinking of getting a brand new ST3 in molten orange and getting the mountune put on from new. Unless there's the RS or a new ST by then that is.

Agreed I'm really interested to see what the real difference is between standard and mounting before I commit to £600
