2010 1.6 Tdci (110) Dpf Remap

Featured Replies

EDIT:- Remap has now been done, see page 3 for results. :)

Has anyone actually had a remap on the MK2.5 Focus 2010 1.6L Duratorq TDCi (110PS) - DV6 - Emissions V Engine? Bluefin only list to 2009. I've got EGR blanked and K&N drop in filter, i'm not going to get the DPF gutted. Just want a remap and that will be it for engine tunning. Thanks. :)

I would be very interested in hearing from anyone who has done this also as I'm currently thinking of getting a remap aswell.

Getting the car serviced next week and waiting on my egr blanking plate in the post so planning on mapping in the next few weeks, plan on keeping my DPF though, I know alot get theirs removed with a remap.

I'm guessing on the 110bhp you could expect to get to between 130 and 140 bhp with a remap?

JC600 did you notice much of a difference in you car with the egr blanked and the K & N filter?

Euro IV DV6 here with a remap, was told it was 140, that was with a new air filter egr plate and some work on the dpf.

Yeah, flattens out the flat spots and hesitations. Pulls a lot better too. :)

What year is yours, is there much difference between Euro IV & V?

I'll be happy with 125-130, as I'm leaving the dpf as it is. :)

not sure, there is a better DPF on the V, doesn't need the additive, but beyond that im not sure, its 2009

Hmm lol.....hopefully someone will shed some light. :)

Just don't get why bluefin don't do one for the 2010 model...but do one for the 2011 mk3.

Think I'll contact a few remap companies, but would like to here from people who have had it done.

Any remappers I've contacted have suggested removing the DPF and getting a remap but this isn't a road I want to go down incase NCT/ MOT regulations change and its needed to pass so I just want a remap.

Can it be remapped faster with the DPF removed?

I'd be happy enough with 125 - 130 aswell, engine is already quite torquey :)

I believe the mot is changing for euro v an above engines so probably best not to,

I'll see what I can find out, definitely not removing my dpf.

Spoke to Durham remaps today, they can remap my car for £345 without doing anything to the Dpf. Will be about 140 bhp and 290 Ibs ft torque with the mods I've got. And be safe, 10k warranty. :)

Is that not a lot for a remap?

I have gotten two quotes myself, one was €200 and the other €250

I think that's a little high, mine was about that and I got more done if you know what I mean, that includes dyno runs too, not just a obd generic remap job

  • Author

The quote was for dyno runs and map. All done specifically for my car. 140 is a little optimistic but he's done 3 2010 110bhp euro V engined Focus and got between 135-140.

And they come highly recommended.

  • Author

Is the 2009 still 110bhp standard?

yup

  • Author

Bit optimistic then lol.....I'll be happy with 130 and a lot of extra torque. :)

I'll be getting a few other quotes too.

Got a price from another good company. £225 or £300 if done on the rolling road. Custom map.

Just spoke to Adrian Flux, said my premium would increase by £81 for the term remaining! As my insurance was only £500 for the year that's a joke....so might not bother.

Think I'm gonna leave it for now, will just tune my mk3 Escort for having fun in, classic insurance is only £160 for the year and that's with loads of mods. :)

Will keep a eye on this thread though, see what results people get. :)

Hi,

If you wanted to PM me your details I'd be happy to take another look at your details to see if there is anything further we can do with the premium.

Regards,

Dan.

Cheers Dan, I'll send you the details in the new year. I have modified insurance, and a classic car insurance policy with you. Got max no claims and no convictions. So getting a bit annoyed with insurance prices, especially as I've been a customer for years.

At Durham Remaps today, Focus has been on the rolling road standard (egr blanking plate and K&N replacement filter), running 111bhp. Ecu has now been taken out to write a custom map then tuned on the rolling road. :)

2010 1.6 tdci 110 dpf, can't be remapped via the OBD port.

Which ecu does 2010 models come with, if its the same as 2008 mk2.5 1.6tdci then it can be done via the odb port. Mpss doesn't seem to work correctly though, but apparently fgtech v52 an above can use odb with the failsafe of going direct to the eprom if need be. Course thats all Chinese clones, the originals work fine
