Featured Replies

Hi! I have a mk 2.5 2009 Focus. I want to edit my EML settings so I can have eco mode & so the doors lock when I reach a certain speed! Can anyone help me?

you need the elm config software with the modified cable. There is a full thread on the use of it on the focus forums.

Where do I get both though? Dont fancy modding my own cable

Can buy them off eBay for £15 (cable) elm config software is available via the guide I refer to earlier, page 1 :-)

The ELM cable needs modding though? I'm struggling to find working links now :(

There are modded cables out there on eBay for 15 quid :-)

What do I search exactly please? Can you send me links of the software as, that page confuses me & some are blocked through ISP :/

Put in eBay item number 151574738709

I put that item number in eBay & bought one... Only problem is, everytime I try & connect it to laptop... It refuses to install it! I have tried millions of driver downloads! Still cant get my laptop to read it properly! Just says usb device not recognised :(

There are drivers on the elm327 thread on the focus forum.

  • Author

Tried all of them :(

Did the seller not provide the driver?

  • Author

Yes but still didn't work...

What version of Windows are you using?

  • Author

I have tried it on Windows 7 & 8...

I will have a day off on Thursday. Have to try then mate. I've honestly downloaded that many drivers! I've e-mailed the seller for advice as well.

Hopefully it helps. It could be a conflict of drivers also causing your issue. Sometimes installing it alone isn't enough you need to point the device manually to it

The seller is sending me another EML 327 out. With the switch, how do I know which is the high & low canbus?

Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

You plug it in and forscan will tell you to switch it to one or the other.

Ah fair enough! I hope I had a dodgey elm!

Fingers crossed. Did you get to keep it?

  • Author

They told me to try the new one and if the new one works... Send the old one back. Hopefully it does! Really really want this mod!!!

Fingers crossed :-)

Any advice mate... Tried the new one and it connects to Forscan brilliantly! So... Go to load up EML FF2... And it crashes when I click Read Configuration? Any ideas? Just freezes :( So close, yet so far!
