Re Mapping

Featured Replies

Hi has anyone on here remapped there ford ka I have the new shape 2010 in the 1.3 tdci will it make a lot of difference if I get it done need opions and if people have already dine it ???

i cannot see any need to remap unless there is a problem with the ecu or the actual program. iyou may gain a small amount the umph but

any change to the bhp will need to be noted by your insurance.

do you have a problem with the car ifso what ?

Hi,

If you decide to do it and need any help with the insurance then please feel free to drop me a line.

Regards,

Dan.

any turbo engine can benefit from a remap, but the question is the amount of pounds you pay and the amount of oomph you get out of it.

look around and you could get some tuning boxes for as little as £70 for an older first gen unit, but then the average is about £300, then you look at what you get - about 25 more horses and about 40 more torques and about 1 - 6 more miles per gallon. Then look at a remap - you get it and stick it on your car, it costs a lot more, and probably wont give you much more out of a 1.3 engine
