hello people can anyone help i have a cmax 04 1.6 and when i turn off the engine after having the aircon on there is a hiss for about 30 sec then it goes, also when i have the car running when i tap the gas pedel there is a wind noise the garage told me its the butterfly opening to let air into the engine hope how every reads this understands me cheers craig.

    It is probably coming from the expansion valve inside the evaporator and releasing accumulated pressure after shutdown. but this usually only occurs after the system has been 'opened' for some kind of maintenance. and has got contaminated.

    That hissing is perfectly normal Like mintalkin said.

    The hiss it is just the the air con system depressurising. My air con is in full working order and it hisses for ages after I have turned the engine off. Just make sure that you have the system serviced. I think that it is every 2 years. Also the air con need to be run for the minimum of 20 minutes each month.
