Faulty Seat Belt

Featured Replies

Hello All

My girlfriend has a 2011 Ford Ka.

Her drivers seatbelt has recently started playing up. Every now and again it gets jammed like when you stop sharply and you cant pull it out at all.

The garage have suggested replacing it, but quoted £165 for the part! Then 1 to 2 hours labour.

I was hoping to get some help / advice please.

Any one know of where I can get one cheaper and could I fit it? Or does some one want to do it for me?

Thanks

Scott

Less than an hour to remove and refit new one,

various places on the online auction sites or vehicle breakers for Ka specific

I'd concur with the timescales having just done the Front PAX one on a CMAX, including all the trim. You may well need a large TORX bit in order to undo the mounting bolts

Ok thanks for the info guys :)

phone your local autoparts or a scrap (breakers yard)

yard for a replacenent.

always phone fords for a price so you have a comparison to go by

try

fill in the form and they will email your prices for the item you need.

For a drivers one it would be a piece of piddle to replace. I reckon I could do one in 15 mins. The torx key is a 50 if I remember correctly. Scrap yard for the win, as long as it isn't damaged by an accident.

However, if you ever need to do a centre rear belt in a Ford, and it is internally mounted in the rear seat, pay Satan or anyone else to do it, that is an absolute nightmare which will result in lots of blood spilt. Ask me how I know...

Don't think I'd like to have to do one where the centre rear is part mounted behind the head lining
