2011 Focus Sat Nav

Featured Replies

Hi to all,

Proud owner of a focus sport 1.6 petrol 2011 and new to this site, obviously, a question to ask, i have bought my focus today, private purchase, the car is fitted with a factory fitted sat nav, unfortunately it does not have the SD card, my question is what SD card would i need? i know there are a few on offer thru ebay, however, i wouldn`t like to pick the wrong one, any help please.

Not to sure wether you can stick a normal SD card in there mate.

A quick read through this post and I think you may have to buy one from fords if you want the maps working correctly and updated.

Hi, thanks Mike for your post, just out of interest, i have phoned Jennings Ford (Stockton) today, £201.51 + vat to order and cannot confirm if the mapping is up to date 2015 or as it was in, 2011 can only say that updates are available, bit of a rip off dont you think! looks like its the dreaded flea bay, unless one of the members on here have one at a reasonable cost.

Check the Internet, they can be obtained much cheaper than what Ford agents want to charge, I gave up and mine and now plug in my Tom Tom!

Sent from my iPad using Ford OC

In the Netherlands (and also some other countries) the SD cards with the latest maps (2015) for most original Sat Nav systems are offered by Ford for €99,-. SD cards with the 2014 maps are even cheaper.

The Ford Sat Nav systems are manufactured by Bosch/Blaupunkt. These systems use TeleAtlas maps. Currently TeleAtlas is owned by TomTom. The SD cards with maps can officially be bought from TomTom (dealers) or a Ford dealer.

A 2011 Focus can be a Focus MK2.5 or a Focus MK3. Both have different Sat Nav systems with different SD cards.

SD cards are around £70 from most dealers or £30 on ebay, you want the N3 edition, your dealer obviously ripping you off (normal)

I'd be asking the person you bought the car off for the card, as if it was sold as having Sat Nav it must have a card or else it doesn't have sat nav

Hi and thanks to all who have posted, with regard to the previous owner, he purchased the car less the SD card from his previous owner, he elected to use his tom tom instead of trying to obtain a SD card so i think there is little chance of finding the origional, obviously, i could use my tom tom but i take the opinion that if sat nav is fitted then i wish to use it, now i know the manufacturer of the sat nav i will try and obtain a card, will see what price tom tom have,

Try look for a focus being broke on eBay or go to your local scrap yard and see if they have any ford sat nav units and ask if they still have a SD card from one.

Surely someone somewhere will have one and not spending an arm and leg for one. I'll keep an eye out for you too.

Thanks again Mike, will try that one, have looked on "flea bay" quite a few listed, some new, still not sure though, some orangie/ yellow color, some dark blue color, some v2 some f3 or f4 maybe i should just pick one that says 2011, obviously mapping wont be up to date and thats another £70/£80 ish from tom tom etc.
