Just won this, picking it up Sunday.......it's for the wife, to teach her to drive in. Will be her first car, then teach my son to drive in it in 2 years time. :)

Also to take to classic car shows till the Escort is ready, then they can both go. :)

Will have to restrian myself lol.....as it's the wife's car......When she's confident and been driving it a while, maybe she might want stuff doing to it. But it's quite a rare car now. So would only be suspension, brakes and engine tweeks. :D

All collected, sweet drive home. Very smooth box, and quite a comfy ride too. Very solid, a few bits of surface rust. No rot though. Needs a valet, and will do plugs, oil & filter and air filter. And the wife loves it. :D

Lovely, nice to see an unmolested one for a change. Looks in excellent condition too! MK3s are rare now, this will be a future classic!

Wow that's a blast from the past, I remember my mum having one of these when I was a kid and then passing it to my grandad! Great clean example you have their!

Yeah, it will stay standard too. Has its dealer plates, tax disc holder, key rings and original sales brochure.

Does need a little tlc, as it does have some rust but not structural and no rot. Roof could do with a respray as it looks like thinks have been stored on it.

And drivers door has a few dints.

It drives really well, better than I thought it would.....very smooth, and quite nippy for 60bhp lol :)

Looking good! Good choice of wiper blades too, I put a new Bosch rear wiper on my mums Peugeot and it cleans really well and is silent too. :)

Cheers, yeah I do like the Bosch ones....got them on the ZS and the Escort (well ready to go on, somewhere lol). :)

  • Author

The sun came out, so got the vinyl cut and done one side but it started raining again. So other side will have to wait till tomorrow. Along with the service. :)

Just took Sam for her first lesson, just round a big car park. Good clutch control, and steering. Will try and get her to go into 2nd gear next time. Just need to build her confidence up. :D

Looks like a good job... I didn't think you would keep the tools away from it for long...

It's not too bad lol.....quite good for a first attempt. Bits on the doors are spot on, the bits round the windows were a nightmare lol. Can't believe the last owner removed them. :)
