Ford Focus Zetec S -1.0 Ecoboost - Engine Mount Failure

Featured Replies

Hi all,

This may seem a strange post but I have a sept 2013 registered 1.0 ecoboost Ford Focus with 26.2k miles on the clock.

Service was done 1k ago a slight grinding and an occasional click in this steering was investigated but nothing found.

6pm today driving home, accerlate from standstill in first, barely make it to 10mph, rather loud bang followed by complete loss of power but engine still idling fine.

Pull over to investigate and passenger side gearbox mount has failed (sheared clean off) an engine has dropped onto subframe ruining driveshaft.

Has anyone ever come across this before?, it's a lease car but I have looked after it as I don't pay for servicing but lease company can be gits sometimes so wanted to see if anyone has heard of this?.

Many thanks

Ben

Not heard of any, but your car is still under warranty, would have thought that would be covered by ford?
