The 1.0 (125hp) ecoboost engine is probably the best one to go for have really good ratings from everyone that have brought them. But you'd need someone who has one to tell you how they really are!

Definetly the best to go for, Amazingly fun to drive, plenty of grunt, sounds suprisingly great for such a small engine, smooth and effortless for town driving and a good motorway cruising and the small car size makes 125bhp pretty nippy.

Highly recommend this car although try the 100bhp version too as it may be enough for you.

100hp? we only have the old 1.4liter with the 100HP engine in the new car and the 125HP 1.0 liter and then there is the 1.6 diesel engine also with about 100hp

The newer facelift models definetly have 1l ecoboost engines with 100bhp, 125bhp & 140bhp.

My understanding is the range (in the UK atleast) is:

Petrol:

1.0l 80bhp

1.0l ecoboost 100bhp

1.0l ecoboost 125bhp

1.0l ecoboost 140bhp (Red & Black Versions)

1.25l 60bhp

1.25l 80bhp

1.6l 105bhp

1.6 ecoboost ST 180bhp

Diesel:

1.5 75bhp

1.6 95bhp

I may have missed one but I think thats the range available.

I belive you can only spec the 1.0l ecoboost 125bhp on a Zetec S or Titanium/Titanium X.

Zetec only gets the 100bhp version maximum.

That's pretty shocking that your dealer didn't have a Fiesta in the showroom, the facelift has been out nearly 3 years now!

I agree with that,I did go to my other local Ford dealer & they didn't have one in their showroom.I could have gone to a very big outfit further afield & i'm certain that they would have had one.

That said i was happy to order it because my 2012 edge had been a brilliant buy.I blame myself & the dealer to a degree.I drove back after realising the the bonnet wasn't visible,it was then that he mentioned the changes to the front end & shrugged when i mentioned not being able to see the bonnet, indicating to me that he was taller than i am & could see it,he is,about 1" taller than i am,,i'm 5'10".

I didn't believe that he could see the bonnet.

I'm getting used to it now although i still don't like it,will have to live with it for now.I don't know exactly what Ford have done, whatever it is,i personally think it is a mistake, but it probably will not be an issue for others.

For me,it would not be a good selling point, shame really because it drives so well.

Re.Phill 87

I sit with the seat one notch up from lowest setting. If i raise the seat to it's highest point,my head touching the roof,i can see the screen wash nozzles, which doesn't make the slightest bit of a difference.

Obviously impossible to drive in that position.

I blame myself,i normally do not buy anything, be it, TV,hi stuff, fridge, you name it without seeing it.I suppose it could be testament to how good the 2012 Edge was that i was prepared to do it.

Moral of the story. Don't buy unseen

End of rant.

I did the same with my pre-facelift fiesta, bought mine and only saw it two weeks later, well was better in the metal, regarding the bonnet, I still have problems seeing were my car starts or ends and it doesn't help with the sporty front lip on, I have scratched it on numerous occasions parking to close to the cerb

+1 for the 125, for the same reasons others have posted.

Only problem I had was getting used to the gearing which didn't behave like any other car I had driven (70 in 2nd gear??), now I am used to the change points it is fine. I think the change up arrow on the dash is a bit over zealous, seems to labour a bit if I change up when recommended by the dash arrow, so I leave it for a few mph more.

Insurance cost was very good also, probably mostly due to the 1l engine size, I am sure the insurers will catch on once they have eventually driven one!

Lol yeah the gear is unlike anything I've drove before, with the tuning box I can get nearly 80 before you have nothing left and need to change up, thats about 30mph more than my Giulietta would do (okay its a diesel and has about 1500rpm less). Never any need to really go into 4th/5th apart from to increase economy. But yeah the change up arrows on any car is far too zealous that it almost encourages early clutch slip, ignore them they are just so the car can pass regulations and decrease tax bands so there not bad just having them.

No dealer will match drive the deal.com also price given normally incorporates the £950 discount for finance too

i'm after finance anyway,

best price so far is £12080, but the pcp monthly payment is too much at the moment, so i'll keep looking and look at nearly new, i may have to look either the 1.25 or wait awhile :(

125BHP OR PS all day long mate
