Tyre Sizes

Featured Replies

Hi folks ,

Might be a stupid question question, but will tyres on a 16" alloy fit a 17" alloy ?

the 16" tyres will have thicker side walls so it will look very weird and handle very differently, i wouldn't do unless it was an emergency

tyres from a 16" wheel will not fit a 17" wheel as that is obviously bigger.

Maybe the "stretched" trend is causing confusion. You can only stretch a tyre in width not diameter. I think the stretched idea looks pants myself!B)

Thanks for the reaponses.

Only reason I ask is I currently have 16" alloys on the car, two tyres of which are fairly new.

Looking at getting some 17" alloys and would be a shame to discard the tyres.

win some lose some unfortunately.

put the tyres on ebay you may get a sale

sure someone will buy them

Why would you have to discard them, are the alloys wrecked? Someone will always buy used alloys with tyres or even separately.
