Hi guys, just got a focus (57 reg style) because Me and my girlfriend are expecting a baby and I needed a reliable good car and cheap to run. Can any one tell me if there was any recalls on that model? No issues with the car, just making sure I'm not missing something! I have asked ford but not been the most helpful of sources!

Cheers guys.

First things first, welcome and congratulations on your new baby (good to hear the other half is expecting too :D)

You can check recall notices online - perhaps the easiest way to see for a Ford is using ETIS. Stick your reg in and it'll give you a shed load of info about your car.

GOOD NEWS!!

The Focus, on the whole is quite reliable so long as it's looked after. They can withstand a little neglect - but pamper them a little and you'll be rewarded.

Best thing about the Focus (in my opinion) is that it's a great small family car - sensible, comfortable, reasonably economic for size/age...but when it's just you, and you find a nice road the car sorta says "You wanna?" And it then transforms into a crackin' driving machine! Handles well, sounds great, easily sits at the speed limit (obviously not a single mph over Officer Stoney lol)

Also - ISOFIX is a very easy retrofit option

easily sits at the speed limit (obviously not a single mph over Officer Stoney lol)

:d

Ross

let us know which model you are getting so we on the forum can advise further.

Hi Ross

welcome to the focus family :)

Great choice for a family car. That's one of the main reasons I got one as with 2 kids the space is great and the boot is fantastic in size. Like Sean says above very reliable from the box but if looked after you will be rewarded lol! we have the mk2.5 1.6 petrol and for us find it very easy and cheap to run. Have had it three years now and no issues at all. I love the new mk3.5 focus but wont be upgrading any time soon as the mk2.5 is going very well so hoping to keep for a few years yet.

keep us updated on what model you get and any problems or information you need just ask as imn the focus forum here there are a lot of good fellas who are very helpful with stuff.

good luck with the new baby fella.

:)

Hi Ross and welcome.

Is it a '57 style Focus or a '57 Focus Style? ^_^

It's a Ford Focus style :) sorry about that haha. Didn't need any of the gadgets as I drive company cars midweek. This is just to nip the missus and mini around in. 1.6 petrol, very impressed so far. Made them replace a dodgey bonnet catch before we did any type of deal.

the dodgy bonnet latch has saved you a lot of hassle and atleast £100 in repair costs (i've suffered from this issue)and congrats on the impending arrival
