Dab In Focus Ghia Mk2

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

First post here but i have to turn to somewhere as i am completely lost in it all.

Bought myself a 2006 Focus Ghia but it came with the standard stereo which is all but useless.

I'd like to get something in there with DAB but obviously as it stands i have no DAB aerial nor do i have the head unit at the minute. So a few questions

1. I was looking at using one of these as the aerial to save on messing around with drilling etc. I understand it needs power but i have no idea how you go about providing it with power ? Kinetic DAA-7001 FM/AM to FM/AM/DAB Car Aerial Converter/Splitter

2. Would i still be able to retain the use of the Steering Wheel audio controls using a 3rd party head unit ? Would this do the job http://www.amazon.co..../dp/B002MXF0OO

In terms of head unit i was looking at this DDX4025DAB 6.1" double din AV system with DAB, Bluetooth and iPod

All help appreciated guys. Hopefully i've provided enough information. I'm really lost here but have to do something about getting this standard stereo upgraded !

Or, if it is just DAB you are after, get down to your Ford dealership sharpish. Ford are offering DAB conversion of your existing radio/CD player for £99 as part of their Ford Reunion promotion.

Thanks - certainly an option although looks like its just an connect2 one.

I have just got to get rid of this silver%20surround.jpg

For tge aerial converter you need a power feed which can be taken from the interior light.

If you get the correct loom and patch lead then the stereo functions on the steering wheel will work.

Fitting the stereo i would remove the r/h centre vent to give you access to move the cables out of the way when sliding the stereo in.

Good luck
