Focus 1.6 Mk2.5 Zetec. What Have I Got?

Featured Replies

Afternoon All

Just bought myself a 2010 1.6 Focus Zetec which is automatic. Can anyone confirm if this model has DCT or normal transmission? The world of automatics is new to me after spending 13 years with a manual and I have no idea what's going on. :D

Lovely car and gearbox and everything else running fine, I just like to know what I've got. I've scanned this forum and Google and most automatic talk seems to be about the diesel models.

yours should be a standard automatic transmission

Well that was cleared up quickly! cheers.

So far I've driven it in sport mode with the ESP switched off to try and make it feel a bit less robotic. I guess I'll get used to it.

if it was DCT it would have felt like a manual, except the gear changes are done automatically.

the standard manual feels very different as it has a torque converter instead and the gears may feel longer

It's 4 speed so I think that must mean the gears are longer?

Except to me It feels like a manual gear change. It feels like when you accidently release the clutch a bit to quickly after a shift and the car kind of surges/jolts forward. Or am I being heavy footed with it?
