Hi Guys

I have had dash cams in my cars since around 2012 and my god I have captured some footage and I'll never be without it.

However, since my last car, my dash cam sticky mount hasn't been on the original sticky pad as I had to replace it when I pulled it off the windscreen, so since then I have just used a "Mirror Sticky Pad" which has been perfect.

Unfortunately, in recent weeks when the temperatures have rocketed i'm regularly finding my dash cam has hanged itself from the headliner, with only the cable saving its fate.

Are there any BLACK/GREY sticky pads out there that are good for glass and heat resistant?

go to a auto parts store and get the green interior mirror sticky pads they work well and show black from the outside

They are the ones I'm using but it's still hanging itself in the heat! :-(

degrease the glass with some white sprit then a wet wipe and let that dry then stick your cam back to the glass

don't do this in direct sun light or hot day and it should work I did mine like this and its been fine

they hold the mirrors on which are heavy than the cams

If you don't have white spirit a dab of gin or vodka on a cloth will have the same effect.

Could use some clear bathroom silicone,

Would peel of at later date if desired,

Velcro is another option,

More breathable

Mines already installed Lenny. I install these daily at work.

Just in the long term as my camera is a sticky mount, I need a very heavy duty, black or grey, heat resistant sticky pad to stop it detaching from the screen.

Look for 3M VHB tape, I got some thin 9mm stuff so used 3 strips of it - cameras stuck solid. Make sure that both surfaces are clean of grease (acetone may dissolve your camera mount, isoproponal alcohol is a better bet).
