Help - Streetka - Smoke From Vents When Stopped But Not When Driving

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I've just put my mums StreetKA up for sales but when I drove it to work to get the MOT finished (failed on headlamps) I noticed when I stopped at any point a strong engone smell comes through the vents.

Any ideas on what it is? I have tried to look under the bonnet but no cracks from what I see but also check the wiring block under passenger side.

Any help is much appreciated as it's up for sale and would rather sort asap.

Cheers

Sounds like the engine overheats while the vehicle is stationary.

I'm not completely sure but my father had this in his previous car (Honda Accord 97) where when he stopped, you could smell the engine - the problem was the fan not working.

You can ask the guys over at the MOT center I guess or get into a garage for them to check it.

Thanks for that. I have asked them to check it.

I'll let you know but didn't think of that as it doesn't have dial to check it on the dash.

Cheers

Aparently there is a small crack in the exhaust so that might be causing it. Will need to see as they don't seem to want to tell me anything without charging.

Oh ok, not nice on their side then :p

Hope you get it sorted!
