Eng Flush

Featured Replies

Is an engine oil flush recommended. Some say not to. Any thoughts ???. Car is a 1.4 CL Focus

Nope.

Personally, I would only use it if I had good reason to do so. Otherwise I would rather put a cheap oil in with a new filter for a short duration, drop it and change filter again before filling up with good oil.

Modern oils have enough detergents and fancy chemicals in them to clean the engine themselve if changed regularly enough.

I flushed my 1.6tdci twice when my turbo went an all was good an still is

Its standard to flush Ti vct units as the crud from oil can cause running issues personally never had issues flushing engines that said I used cheap oil to do it drain then fill with good oil I didn't use any flushing chemicals
