Would you recommend going directly to a ford parts supplier or can I just to halfords?

Hi,

Forget Halfords as they dont do Bosch,

Best straight swap upgrade battery for your motor is a "Bosch S4 007" that exact model.

Ive fitted myself last march and even noticed a slight increase in MPG.

I also run a stream of items from it with no problem.

Take your time and weather is dry mate,

See my guide to egr blanking a 1.6TDCi engine, it shows how to remove and refit that cover,

The S4 007

Fits the 1.6TDCi, 1.8TDCi and the 2.0TDCi engines without Stop/Start technoligy

If your car is an econetic with stop/start engine then you need a bigger Bosch S5 but if the engine doesnt turn off at traffic lights then its an S4 007

I removed airbox on mine and slid it through. ;)

You should be able to remove the battery without taking off the air filter housing.

First - CHECK YOU HAVE THE RADIO CODE!

Remove battery cover.

Disconnect positive then earth.

Remove the bar across the top of the battery.

Remove the front plate of the battery box (slides up) (may have bolts - cant 100% recall).

Slide battery forwards and up to remove.
