Clunking Gear Change

I made the mistake (I realise now!) of buying a high mileage focus 1.6tdci (115k) on an 11 plate - cheap titanium x - but I'm now getting all sorts of clunks and thumps in the hotter weather. I've changed all the engine/transmission mounts, the anti-roll bar links on the front and the two front springs. It's the 6 speed manual B6 gearbox.

My current most annoying thing is a real clunk-clunk as I change from 2nd to 3rd gear, and I'm worried that it might be something going on inside the gearbox, so can anyone else tell me whether they suffer from the same clunking but on a low mileage car - in other words nothing to worry about, or has had to had something done to sort it?

    Hi. Ive got a 63 reg 1.6 tdci 6 speed aswell i think its just a characteristic of the gearbox. Mine does it in 1st to 3rd and i bought my car with 6k on clock now on 27k.

    ... and I've had my Titanium (Mk 3.5 1.5TDCI) from new!

    What is faintly depressing is that it seems the rear engine mount may not be the problem?!

    Oh well ...

    I sometimes hear a 'clunk' when engaging reverse in my 1.6 ecoboost (also 6 speed box). Sounds like a common problem across the range - seems the transmission and clutches are a huge weakness on the mk3 focus.
