Ecoboost 100

Featured Replies

Hi guys what's ur thoughts on ecoboost engines I'm thinking of getting 1 soon. What one 100 or 125 zetec or titanium? Thanks

100 PS is adequate for the Focus (larger car), so it will be more than adequate for the Fiesta. Other forum members have said the 125 PS engine feels pretty much the same as the 100PS engine, except for the fact that it has slightly better overtaking power at higher RPMs.

Well I've got a 1.0 100ps zetec, and I can honestly say, Its amazing! absolutely fantastic! it all depends on your budget mate!

Zetec offers a lot of kit that will keep you happy, But obviously with the titanium being top of the range...

The 100PS is so much fun to drive! it offers a lot of power from such a little unit, it has a great amount of pull in practically any gear...

Got to be better than my 1.4 petrol titanium which has gone up for sale today 8000

Loads better than 1.4.

Had a 100PS Zetec which was brilliant for a small car. If hadn't been tempted with the ST I would still be happy with the Zetec.

I wonder if any1 would be interested in a swap for ecoboost hmm. I'll ponder that idea

Apart from the titanium X ;)

Haha i meant titanium X mate!

I have a titanium x 125ps ecoboost , with bodykit , 17 inch alloys , sat nav , spare wheel and active city stop. Probably the best small car i have ever had. Great fun to drive , smooth , quiet and goodish on fuel too plus the best bit NO RFL to pay for lol. Go for it you will not be disappointed ! 100ps os ok too but the 125 has that better punch when required.

Very nice cars.

I have 100ps Titanium. Remapped to 140ps. It's rather delicious.

Right may of found the car I want. So ecoboost low down power what's it's like?

In my 100bhp Zetec it was pretty nippy.

I am happy enough with the 100PS engine, sure sometimes I would like the faster overtaking performance but overall the car is perfectly fine and fun to drive. Also it has a good balance between price, performance and fuel economy - although the latter is not as claimed (but it seems no car ever matches up).

Just don't go on the overtaking lane on the German Autobahn or you will soon feel inferior :)

How Bout reliability?

In terms of reliability I started getting a small whining noise at high speeds over the last week (mentioned in other post on here), otherwise no problems over the last 15 months. Always starts without a problem and never had any cut outs etc. Then again I was until about 3 months ago a very low mileage driver.

Fairly bullet proof, dont know of any engine isuses except for the focus ones that had faulty coolant pipes and lost coolant doing damage to engine, but fiestas nothing. Get a remap to 140 then you have a very quick car , ive got bluefin on my focus 100 and no issues at all , on 38k and pulls like a 2 litre.

Definently remap when out of warrenty do u have to tell insurance company?

Yes, or you could find yourself uninsured

they made it easy for us, either the 1.4 petrol, 1.6 diesel or 1 litre 125HP and of course the ST
