Lowering Springs For Less Than £100

Featured Replies

All,

My next planned modification is to add some lower springs, looking to drop 30mm - which is ample. Came across these on AMAZON (as I have plenty of Amazon vouchers to spend!)

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00DP2ZZ7S

EXACTLY the same springs are listed here, but at a slightly higher price:

Am I correct in thinking these will fit a 2013 Titanium, Petrol? As they are listed as TDCI, but surely that doesn't make a difference to the suspension on diesel/petrol models.

Please correct me if I'm wrong?

They'll be different mate. Diesels are heavier at the front.

You need petrol ones.

Ahh, I learn something new every day. Thanks Willy!

try pumaspeed they should have some 30mm drop springs lad

Amazon only have the TDCI springs from Eibach.

Good exchange rate £113.00

Got a good deal with these and 4x15mm eibach spacers in July.

Sadly they aint under £100, but you pay for quality and a named brand.

go for eibach quality speaks for its self

The reason why i'm looking on Amazon is because I have like £1000 in vouchers to spend, lol.

Came across these:

Supersport SU25265 Lowering Springs for Ford Fiesta VII 3-Door / 5-Door JA8 / JR8 Engines 1.25 / 1.4 / 1.6 (44-88 kW) Build Date 10/2008 Onwards Front-Wheel Drive

I'm guessing these will fit? ^_^

spread some of the vouchers around we all need B)new springs

  • Author

I'll sell some... At a discounted price!! B)

I used ones from my work Lesjofors springs and they did my mk6 5 years 35mm no problems what so ever .

Why the hell are you buying cheap tacky £100 springs from Amazon?????? Spend your £1000 AND SELL THE STUFF.

Get some named brand you cheap skate. Supersport are probably the Asda smart price springs, and if that fails on your car you think Ford are gonna honour the warranty???

At least Eibach is ford endorsed.

And what's your stage 1 chip BHP??

And what's your stage 1 chip BHP??

From 100bhp, upto 140bhp

They're arrived:

051

You will not believe I paid only £0.61 for these, brand new. I used some Amazon vouchers the pay the rest, mwahaha!

Just checked back on Amazon, the price of the springs have now increased by 64%.

What make are the springs?

Well looks like i'll be fitting these springs myself on Tuesday morning, and I've hired a "ramp" with tools to do the job. £15 per hour, decided to rent it for 3 hours.

http://ramp-it-up.co.uk/

Had no other option as:

A] I don't have the outside space to do it, both car parks where I currently live and both SITE offices, massive building works going on.

B] I lack spring compressors, but do have all the other tools.

C] My dad's been ignoring my requests via texts

Will actually be nice to look under the whole car too, with it up on the ramps - have a good nose!

For those who have fitted your own springs... tips/advise? It does Look pretty straight forward to do!

18mm offset spanner is a must, socket set and allen keys.

Easiest car to work on, handy guide here:

http://www.jamessimpson.co.uk/how-to-lower-ford-fiesta-st-mk7-5-2013/

After removing all the strut realised i'd left my offset spanner at my mates....looking at 1.5 hours for the full fit, rear are simple just one bolt and drop. Very little elbow grease is needed.

Give the car a few weeks to settle then get the alignment checked.

I had to laugh, as I watched a vid on YouTube.

2 guys fitted some lowering springs on their "Daihatsu" project. One of them said, if you can take your shoe off and fit it into the wheel arch... then you're wheel arch is too big! :P

After they fitted some lowering springs there was no room to shove a shoe into the wheel arch!!

Can you imagine me doing that at the workshop? I bet they'll be thinking "why the hell is he shoving a shoe into his wheel arch!!!"

Mighty car mods by any chance?

They've got some amazing videos... I've watched all from start to end and there's not a bad one in there
