I Sprayed My Focus

Featured Replies

I too can't say I like Stealth, however I applaud the effort made by the OP, who should be rightly proud of his achievement.

Any kind of modification is a very personal choice & if the modifier is happy with the result - that's all that matters :)

Just want to say thank you for the kind comments to a lot of you. I get everyone has different opinions and will not like it. It's hard to put time effort and money into something then be criticised for it the next day.

It's just a learning curve and only the second time I've ever sprayed a full car. I'm happy with it!

Joe - ignore the comments that do not like the colour. a lot of people still aint used to the colour grey!!!

like others have said, it is YOUR car and it is YOUR choice and as long as YOU are happy then that is all that matters.

nobody's car is perfect and never will be so dont be disheartened.

Carry on as you wish :D

Cheers man, don't suppose you go to the car meet at Bermuda do you?

I think they are every Wednesday, I've been invited but never gone. Wanted to know if it's any good! If I go I'll let you know man.

At least you have gone for a colour that not many people have, problem is a lot of cars look exactly the same. Again though I do like the colour

Thanks man that was the idea. I wanted to pick a ford colour and something I could get mixed for touch ups. Also I chose satin over gloss to make it different. Appreciate your comments

Nobody has criticised the actual effort that has gone into it Joe and you are right that probably over 95% of people on here could not spray a car with those results!

If you are going to post on an open forum though you should accept that people have different taste and then be able to take it on the chin if they comment on it.

I never meant to upset you and apologise if I have but I was only having a bit of banter. I did state it was a good effort, what a boring world it would be if we all had exactly the same taste and if you are happy with it then that is all that matters! :)

Good effort but looks awful IMO. Doesn't look finished!

Please do present me with your efforts, or even better the car you've actually got considering you can't drive yet
Well I'm sorry if I offended you, but everyone has different tastes. And as Wes said, you can't expect everyone to have the same opinion as you and if you post on a public forum you're bound to get people who have different tastes. I'm afraid it's part of life to face criticism and be able to deal with it.

Now I'm not trying to turn this into an argument, as long as you like it, that's all that matters.

I understand people have different opinions and the whole point of car mods is to make your car your own and different. I appreciate the comments and understanding. It just hit the wrong nerve...probably my pride one!

Does anyone have an idea of the affect this wi have on the value of the car?

Any vehicle is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it, much like property, so if that someone likes that colour they'll pay more than standard book value & if they don't - they won't

looks very different, good job :)

however i would get at least 17" alloys, 16" just dont look right for this car :)

Thanks for the comments and I agree,I'm looking at getting some 17's. A guy has offered me some multi spoke ones for cheap but I'd need a whole new set of tyres for them. Once the right ones come up I'll get them.

I'll be having a set of 19's available soon - once I've refurbished them - get BBS CH look (car will need lowring unless you like the SUV look!)

I would but I'll buy a recked set and refurb them, stingy some people may call it! Thanks anyway though, i will be looking at fitting some lowering springs at some point.

Looks like you've done a good job of it from the pics. I actually quite like it. I wouldn't choose to have it on my car but if I saw one driving about with that paint job on id look at it and think it was cool.

I think it's needs something else though, but I can't put my finger on it. Maybe different wheels?

Thanks a lot mate. Yeah I agree, I'm going to get the windows tinted, paint the calipers, lowering springs and potentially new wheels if the right ones come up. The list is building!...

Maybe accept that other people have an opinion that may not fit with yours?

Just because someone says they don't like it or it looks like a car that has not been finished and painted properly does not mean they are criticising you, it means that is their opinion, the subject on which you have asked for opinions.

I also agree with those people sadly as to me I do not like it, that is my choice as is yours if you like it.

If you like it then who cares what other people think? Why ask for peoples opinions if you can't accept there is two sides to every coin?

As long as your happy with it that is all that matters, if you have done it for other people's approval then you have to question why you did it in the first place? To please yourself? to please others? or to get loads of people saying it looks "sick" or whatever slang youngsters use these days?

I see so many of these threads whether it be a colour choice or a barry boy car so to speak, and they nearly always end with the OP poster saying anyone who does not agree as being condescending or unhelpful.

If we all like the same things the world would be a very boring place.

And as said it looks like a lot of effort and time has gone into it so well done.

Does anyone have an idea of the affect this wi have on the value of the car?

No one can say for sure, a car is only worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. However changing a car too much from standard limits the buyers it will attract and will be much harder to sell than an original car, there will be places you can advertise it which specialise in that kind of finish or mods to appeal to the right audience. But yes ultimately I would say it will have an adverse affect on the value of the car or chance of sale.

When you modify a car so far from standard it will make it harder to sell and very rarely adds any value to the car, it generally decreases it's value and sale prospects, but there are always the exceptions.

Should have read the posts on the this page before typing my previous comment however it is still my comment I stand by regardless of the replies since.
