Mk4 Parking Sensor Fault

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a Ford Mondeo MK4 (2010), and recently my parking aid is signalling an error (long beep, light flashes 3 seconds and then turns off). The car diagnostics shows that the rear speaker is faulty. However, I cannot find the rear speaker. Does anyone know where it's located?

O/s rear , tip right rear seat back down, remove side trim and its there. Or if estate same area but need to remove parcelshelf support o/s also

Already done that, speaker nowhere to be found. I took apart the whole right side of the trunk, and seat side. Found the sensor module, but no speakers.

I agree with you , even though info say those lications, ive just had a listen to one and sounds like it in the rear of roof lining area, difficult to pinpoint without dismantling.

I guess I'll have to take apart the roof part as well. Has anyone actually found their rear speaker? I don't want to dismantle half the car and not find it :)

Found some more info, from 09/2008 onwsrds the sensor is infact glued to roof lining, unlucky, if you drop down the rear interior lamp and if access is possible after removal , put hand in and have a feel for it to left or right of lamp ,

Did mine last year, 2011 estate. Pop out the rear interior light out, I took the trim off too, hand up and have a furkle around. I ended up finding the wiring for it and tracing along it, ended up tugging gently on the wire to get it.

Then just a straight swap for one for a few quid off ebay
