Fiesta Radio Not Loading

Featured Replies

Hello,

I recently purchased a fiesta however the radio is not loading anymore. I'm having the exact same issue as in this video

I have tried the following without success.

Disconnecting the battery for 10-20 minutes,

Updating the radio firmware,

Unplugging and plugging back in radio related fuses.

Nothing i try seems to be working.

If anyone could help me out that would be much appreciated,

Thanks.

Edit:

The car is a fiesta mk7 zetec 1.25 (uk)

Anyone this seems to be very strange....

Have u pressed the on/off button I know it's sounds stupid but u would be supprised how many people do it. Is there anything on ur screen? ie time and date or is it just blank?

Its exactly the same issue as in the video linked in my post, You press the on button and it just says "Ford Audio" and it doesn't do anything after that

I quite regularly have an issue where the Radio doesnt come on when i start the car as well, just sits there saying ford audio. Hitting on/off didnt resolve it but stopping and starting the engine did. I know its not exactly the same as the video you link to.

I have noticed recently though that when i start the car and the radio doesn't come on and sits saying "Ford Audio" if you press one of the source buttons, like Radio or AUX or CD for example it then kicks it into life and works. Maybe you could give that a try? My problem is just a minor annoyance and probably wouldn't reproduce if i showed it to ford

Thanks for the suggestion, however none of this seems to be working...

i think you got a display module fault.

i think you got a display module fault.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have the car going into the dealership next Tuesday for them to have a look at it, Thanks for the help.

Why I say that is that ive replaced the display module with same issue on an 10 plate fiesta,

I have a suggestion for you that might save you a bit of money if your dealer is charging you.

As said above I've been having similar issues with mine but i have also been having other issues, the bluetooth voice control function didn't work and half of the buttons on my steering wheel controls for the stereo also didn't work,

The Display module is basically the controller for the sound system, it controls everything, the stereo doesn't actually get controller by the buttons directly, everything goes through the display module first. Disconnecting the car battery didn't fix my problems but this week i accidentally fixed my problems. I'd bought a replacement display module for my car from a fiesta that was being dismantled but this didn't work in mine, my guess is the other screen was just broken so i decided to plug my original screen back in, it flashed on, displayed the wrong date and then went back to normal, after that my radio turns on every time without fail, voice control now fully works and the buttons on the steering wheel now all work.

You could try disconnecting your display module and reconnecting it and see if this solves your problem. It's really easy to do and would take you about 10mins. The panel that fits over the screen is only clipped on, you can pull it off from the back with a tiny bit of gentle force and it should come off revealing the screen. Then there are just 2 screws that hold the screen in place, unscrew those and lift the screen out. Unplug the cable that feeds into the back of the screen so the screen is completely free and disconnected. Then plug the cable back into the screen and test to see if it fixes the problem for you.

The above fixed all my problems and it might just do it for you without the need to spend any money on getting it checked out or parts replaced :)

Didn't work, However the car went into ford and they said its not the screen but in fact the cd unit... They said that they are fixing it because its still under warranty. Thanks for all the help/suggestions everyone.
