What Do You Reckon This Is?

That doesn't bode well for the ones i ordered. Did they blow? they're supposed to have some kind of built in resistor. Halfords probably do whiter bulbs, if they give off any more heat than normal though then your light might end up scorched like mine.

Don't know how you can tell if LEDs if have blown? They don't come on anyway.

Yeah I definitely don't want scorches. Hmm... :/

501 extreme white from ebay are brighter whiter cheaper and last longer

Are they low UV as well? Got a link?

Did you contact the seller? They've got a bit on their website about how they don't do negative or neutral feedback and will make sure its positive no matter what it takes. If you tell them they sent the wrong colour and they broke after half hour your bound to get a refund or replacement.

Cheers Arthur, it doesn't mention anything about UV or plastic lenses though. Though they seem to work fine for you so may give them a go!

I left them an email asking for a refund but had a standard 'we're away for the weekend' reply. Will have to see what they suggest tomorrow.

Ok, so an update on this...both LEDs came on this morning, but again were off after a drive... Can they overheat or something??

I have asked for a refund but looks like replacement is the only option, though they are happy to replace, not being awkward at all. I've ordered the phillips bulbs now and will be using those anyway when they arrive.

I've just fitted mine. Like you i ordered black but got silver and they arrived loose in an envelope? Anyway they look great. Haven't tested too see if they go out like yours did but fingers crossed.

One done, the difference is very clear

All done

Yeah mine also arrived loose. They didn't work at all yesterday. Make sure you check yours a few times as it is actually illegal if they don't work....despite sidelights being absolutely pointless lol, imo you either need lights on or you don't, none of this half assed lights.

Hopefully my bulbs will arrive today though!

Fitted the 'Extreme White' bulbs today, and I must admit they're a lot whiter than standard. But still a bit yellow when the HIDs are on, probably alright if you have standard lights! :)

So the LED's stopped working on the way to work this morning, the right side started flickering then it went out. After I switched them off for a while and then back on it works for another 20mins then goes out again, it's like it's getting too hot or something.

Anyway they were only £5 so not the end of the world. I've already got on to them about a refund or replacement etc. Looks like ill have to find something else.

Oh yeah thought it was funny the plastic tongue thing the sidelight plugs into unscrews clockwise in stead of anti-clockwise. It makes no sense. Ford must not have ever heard that its lefty loosey, righty tighty. Took me ages to figure it out what I was doing wrong.

I think you've slightly missed the point Tom, they've always been intended mainly for use when parked in an unlit location.

Afaik they're supposed to be used in inclement weather during the day, they also have to remain on with the headlights so they're not just for parking. There is also a parking light if you leave the indicator stalk down. :)

Dan, let me know how you get on with the refund. I don't want a replacement as I'm using these bulbs now, but wasn't given the option. Haven't got the time or inclination to argue it atm but as yours are broken as well, maybe they'll offer a refund... :)

Oh also, I snapped the tongue off one of my bulb holders...what an odd design lol. For anyone else that does though, sticking a flat blade screwdriver in one of the square terminal holes allows you to twist the holder out really easily! Hopefully you guys aren't as clumsy/heavy handed as I am though.

They emailed me back. They want me to smash the faulty leds with a hammer and take a photo of them. Then they will send me some new ones. Absolutely bizarre. Im going to go with it for now.

Yeah I had exactly the same email lol. It just saves return postage and means that you can't possibly sell them on. :)

It's a bit annoying as I put the LED that works in my interior roof light or whatever it's called. Gives a nice bright white glow in the cabin, much better then the dull yellow stock one.

Do they ask you to break both? I reckon one would be sufficient? ;)

How did you get on Dan? Replacements sent yet? :)

Here are my Phillips Ice White bulbs, not as white as the HIDs but far better than standard. They are also UV safe apparently.

Yeah they look much better then standard. The standard ones are really yellow in comparison.

So on Thursday I sent them a pic of the hammered LEDS and I haven't heard a single peep from them since, despite sending 3 chaser mails. Just flat out ignoring me basically.

If it's not resolved by the 31st I get my money back from ebay so not a problem, and they have earned themselves some horrendous feedback. Not entirely sure what they're playing at really. Did you pursue a replacement in the end?

So after getting the feeling that they were pulling a fast one, on Monday I ordered the ones Arthur mentioned at the top of the page.

Paid for next day delivery and still no sign of them lol.

What the hell have I got to do to get a bulb delivered around here!!

Ah I see, not going great then! :(

No I haven't pursued them, had more than enough to deal with this this week lol. I don't want replacements anyway though. Might send them another email saying that, if no response just open a dispute. I know it's only a fiver and I spend more than that a day on diesel but that's really not the point.

So just an update: I got a refund from eBay for the LEDs I ordered which were both faulty and the wrong colour.

I fitted the other sidelights I ordered and they look a very clean white/blue but not that bright, can't go wrong for the price.

I found myself in Halfords at the weekend and noticed they have BOGOF on bulbs at the moment so I bought new H11's from their Ultra brilliant range or whatever it's called supposed to be 130% brighter then normal. Was £30 per bulb to so they must be good, luckily I got the other one free.

Just for the hell of it I ordered a pack of 15 LED bulbs for £1.79 from China. Going to play around with them when they arrive. They're so cheap that if they work then great and if they don't then its no loss.

All the above makes me wonder if the sellers had a decent product when Lenny bought them years ago, but since have had to find a new supplier or have tried to increase profits.

I too have order leds from some eBay folk and when they arrived floating around loose in a brown padded envelope I always feel cheated hahaha...

Got my refund today after asking yesterday lol... :)

Also been using my fog lights today with it being foggy...obviously! Man they look yellow against the other lights now haha.
